a great beginning

[content warning: death, grief, mourning, etc]
MJ, a family friend on my wife's side, passed away in the early hours of the morning today.
I actually didn't know MJ very well, but I knew the people around her. My mother-in-law Gayle has been MJ's best friend for... decades I suppose, before I knew either of them. Actually Emory and MJ's kid Kaylyn were best friends, and their moms were best friends.
Life is funny. And time is funny, you know? Time is a weird soup ;)
Brennan Lee Mulligan said that death is a great beginning, in a story. I guess that's true, because now Gayle and Katie and all of the people who have been taking care of MJ can rest and recoup and move onto something new in their lives.
I'm trying to spend the right amount of time mourning and feeling my feelings, and the right amount of time going out and living life.
If you're reading this, I'm so glad that I still have friends who want to read my nonsense hahaha. But also Twitter is going down in flames, and I don't want to lose my connection to my old friends... and I miss LiveJournal, so here I am.
...For a hot second, at least! XD:; I'm actually going out with some friends in a little bit -- to get out of the house and clear my head, etc.
Well, truth be told I'm going out with my POLYCULE -- I'll probably post about them more in friendslocked entries or something bc I want to respect their privacy.
I'm trying to spend the right amount of time being online and chatting with far-away friends, and also talking and hanging out with IRL friends.
I'm trying to find the balance in spending time with the many people I love.
That's all life really is, right? Living and loving and learning the hard way, as Faith Hill said.
I'll catch you all up on all of the rest of the stuff happening in my life later <3
